How a lesson works

1. You read one real conversation, cold.
2. The grammar in it is taught one piece at a time, with a quick check after each piece.
3. You read the conversation again — and this time you understand it.
4. A short test. 80% passes. Anything you missed earlier comes back here.
5. Whatever you still get wrong is remembered and returns in later lessons until it sticks.

Before lesson 1

The lessons are written in kana, not romaji, because reading is the point. If you cannot read hiragana yet, start with the kana charts.
