Japanese from zero · N3 Lesson 38

Because, for example

なぜなら ・ 例えば ・ 更に ・ すでに ・ 〜つもりで

In this lesson, you will learn to give a reason the formal way with なぜなら, to add examples with 例えば, to add a further point with 更に, to say 'already' in written Japanese with すでに, and to do something as if you already were someone with 〜つもりで. The club chooses Lisa as its next editor, and she writes her first editorial as editor.

By the end you will be able to say

I joined the newspaper club. The reason is that I wanted to know the town.
For example, I want to write about the shops in front of the station.
On top of that, I want to get more readers.
I've already written half of it.
I'll write the editorial as if I were the editor.

  5. 〜つもりで — as if; with the intention of — Noun + の つもりで or a plain verb + つもりで means doing something with the feeling or intention of being or doing that.
