By the end you will be able to say
ねこcat
いぬdog
はなflower
なつsummer
たなかTanaka: a name you can now read (Lisa's classmate, in Lesson 1)
The grammar in this lesson
- た ち つ て と: the t-row — ta, chi, tsu, te, to: two of them break the pattern.
- な に ぬ ね の: the n-row — na, ni, nu, ne, no, and two shapes to keep apart.
- は ひ ふ へ ほ: the h-row — ha, hi, fu, he, ho: ふ is a soft 'fu'.
- は said 'wa': the topic word — As a grammar word, は is pronounced wa.
