The most common reason is that it is hard to set up the system and find the staff. Many also said there is no company nearby that will take the batteries.

    Show answer

They keep collected batteries in fire-resistant or metal containers, carry fire extinguishers on garbage trucks, and pick batteries out by hand at the plant before the garbage goes into the machines.

    Example answer

I take old batteries to the counter at city hall. But I didn't know how to throw away a power bank, so I'm going to check my town's rules.
