    Show answer

It is the annual report required by the law to prevent death from overwork, and this is the 11th time it has been decided by the cabinet and reported to the Diet. What sets it apart is that it digs into the reasons why compensation claims are rising.

    Show answer

Brain and heart disease cases fell by 24 from the previous year to 217. Mental illness cases rose by 26 to 1,082, continuing to increase.

    Show answer

It thinks the main cause is more claims from people aged 50 and over, an age group more likely to suffer brain and heart disease, which pushed the total up.

    Show answer

Interpersonal relations show the biggest growth, especially trouble with a boss. The white paper says, however, that whether this is what drives the rise in claims still needs more analysis.

    Show answer

Taxis, at 40.1%, and buses, at 36.7%, were strikingly high.

    Show answer

From April 2028 (Reiwa 10), stress checks will be mandatory at small workplaces with fewer than 50 workers. At present only 32.5% of such workplaces carry them out.

    Example answer

Besides cutting working hours, I think we need to reduce the strain that comes from relationships with bosses and customers. For example, workplaces should set up a place where people can ask for help right away, and companies should deal with customer abuse as an organization.
